Background An exhiled Britannian prince, Lelouch is the head of an extensive terrorist organization known as The Black Knights, whom he commands from under the mask of his political persona, Zero. The organization works to free Japan from Britannian occupation, but Lelouch secretly harbours personal ulterior motives for controlling The Black Knights, often having them carry out tasks which would be considered extraneous to their goal and dangerous. They do not question the motives for such commands though, since his tactics usually prove largely successful. His self-serving and often reckless actions have been known to cause detriment for The Black Knights in the past however, bringing some to suspect whether or not his intentions are entirely pure. Lelouch does indeed uphold everything The Black Knights stand for and claims that he is the 'ally of justice' on those terms, but more than anything Lelouch's true motives lie in creating the peaceful world for his sister, and in a strong desire for revenge on his country, whom he blames for his mother's murder.

Moral Disposition (or lack thereof..) Lelouch will do whatever he can in order to secure the upper hand, both on and off the battlefield. He knows no humility or integrity and blatantly rejects the rights to his soul for the sake of achieving his goals. This lack of regard allows him to commit heinous crimes, which in some cases are so under-handed and shameless that his adversaries are left in shock. Personality Though on the battlefield he is heartless and cold, in any relatively peaceful environment Lelouch is almost a normal person. A bit introverted and reserved, he would much rather sit down with a nice book or curl up for an afternoon nap instead of engaging his with his friends in a trip to the mall. Though he is largely cynical and disenchanted with life on the whole, he is generally a pleasant person to be around, if a bit boring. Lelouch is a very selfish individual, probably largely due to his aristocratic upbringing in addition to a natural disposition. As part of his selfish nature, he is very lazy and avoids any physical activity when at all possible, which in turn makes him extraordinarilly weak and intolerant to anything that requires physical exertion. Often contradictory to his own actions, he cannot stand to see injustice being done, but will only retaliate if he feels so inclined. He never expresses romantic interest in either sex, but is not particularly averted from romance either; almost as though it doesn't exist in his world. Love wouldn't serve to benefit his aspirations, so it is simply not an issue. Geass Lelouch possesses a vile power known as 'Geass', which for him manifests itself in the form of verbal mind control. He usually relies on using his geass to bend the wills of others as his trump card, and his success in the war can in fact largely be attributed to its use. However in Glaxcin it is inhibited, rendering him practically defenseless.

Notable Developments Since Arriving in Glaxcin Lelouch was extracted from his world just as one of the most crucial battles in the history of the Rebellion was beginning to transpire. This particular battle would be a pivotal point in the war, and Lelouch knew it. It carried with it some inherent dangers and risks, but Lelouch had set up the battle in such a way that The Black Knights would have a strong advantage for the first twenty minutes or so. It was during that crucial time frame that Lelouch disappeared from the field. Desperate to negotiate his way back, Lelouch engaged in a string of last-ditch crimes in order to threaten the Warden into submission. These desperate attempts, however, only resulted in his own detriment, leaving him with a severely broken nose, a concussion, and a prison full of self-made enemies. Gradually, Lelouch came to accept that too much time had elapsed since he had been pulled from battle, leaving him with little hope for his army's survival. He is unaware of the exact state his army is now in, but he can make a very well-educated guess; under such circumstances, a civilian army in the absence of their commander would have been easily annihilated by opposing forces. The Black Knights would have met with overwhelming defeat, and the war -along with any hope for salvaging it- would have been lost. On top of that, his identity would have been exposed and publicized, and his poor sister would soon learn that her brother was a murderer and a terrorist. Delving into a deep depression, Lelouch has emerged into a state of stagnancy. His life, everything he had ever worked for and the one person he cared about, had for all intents and purposes been destroyed in the course of twelve or so hours. Left with only vengeance for his loss, his reason for existing has been extinguished.
